Why Verso Live

Verso Live has been built by broadcast industry experts. We know first-hand what a system needs to work in a live, real-time environment.

Drawing on the power of advanced 3D creation tool Unreal Engine, Verso Live is already in use by graphics service providers, week in, week out, offering you a powerful, reliable solution for your broadcast graphics requirements.

What’s in the box

When you opt for a Verso Live licence, everything you need is included:

Unreal Engine
Outputs
Verso Live Desktop
VLS Interface
Data Integration middleware

Unreal Engine

Unreal Engine is a state-of-the-art engine and editor, and Verso Live harnesses its real-time power to deliver outstanding effects and visuals.

You can download the Unreal Engine editor for free directly from Epic Games.

Verso Live is flexible. SDI, NDI, (IP 2110 coming soon) at HD, 4K, and beyond are all possible with the correct I/O hardware.

You can configure Verso Live to combine outputs for a given channel at the same time. (For example, if you wanted both SDI and NDI preview output).

Verso Live desktop

The desktop application is the core of Verso Live. The Verso Live desktop is where you load your graphics packages built with the Unreal Engine editor.

The easy-to-use user interface lets you set up multiple channels, with multiple outputs per channel. For example, you can configure a preview and live channel, with NDI output for the preview and SDI and NDI for the live.

VLS interface

The VLS interface gives you full control over your graphics. Both new and experienced CG users will quickly get to grips with this user-friendly graphics operator system.

The VLS interface can be accessed through a web browser across any network connected to your Verso Live server. This makes it ideal to use for remote production, and means you don’t need extended KVM sets when operating servers installed in engineering areas.

Data integration middleware

The data integration middleware is the gateway for developers to integrate and automate live graphics.

The Verso Live desktop natively supports TCP connections and ships with free middleware, to extend the protocols to HTTP and Websockets.

The JSON based API command set makes integrating data and controlling Verso Live easy.

Features

Verso Live has been built by broadcast graphics professionals, for broadcast graphics professionals.

Everything’s included when you buy a licence – you don’t need to buy additional plugins, features or output licensing add-ons.

You can also choose the licence that works for you, whether that’s a lifetime or an annual subscription.

Unreal Engine

Outputs

Outputs

Verso Live is flexible. SDI, NDI, (IP 2110 coming soon) at HD, 4K and beyond are all possible with the correct I/O hardware. A combination of these simultaneously is also easily configured – whichever is best for you.

Ready for virtualisation

Ready for virtualisation

Run Verso Live as a desktop application locally or host in the cloud on virtual machines with AWS or Azure for a native-cloud or virtualised production setup.

Customisable

Open & Flexible

Open & Flexible

All license models enable all apps and features – no “special” features or extra I/O options are behind a paywall. For hardware; we build tried and tested 2U and 3U rack machines whilst openly sharing the hardware specification for those that want to build or bring their own hardware.

Roadmaps

The Verso Live development roadmap is based on constant feedback from those using Unreal Engine and Verso Live for broadcast.

Our key milestones:

  • Remote webRTC preview windows for native remote production and control support

  • VLS interface – “direct data integration” so you can integrate data sources through an easy drag and drop setup interface

  • IP 2110 Output support (AJA and Matrox)

  • Unreal Engine 5

Verso Live Apps

Included Operator UI, to work manually with all of your graphics templates, including creating saved graphics (page files), playlists, etc.

A simple to use API that allows you to control all of Verso Live and your graphics through JSON commands sent over TCP and HTTP. Highly ‘developer friendly’.

We believe in freedom of choice. Verso Live can either provide hardware directly, or advise you on a build-your-own system or off the shelf solution, based on the performance your graphics need.
